Here is some important information regarding Saturdays climb and important detail for planning and what to expect on the day:
1. We will meet at the foot of Croagh Patrick in the Carpark from 9am (locate our white tent in the carpark near the community cafe)
2. Enjoy a chat with other climbers, tea or coffee reception and get your Western Alzheimer’s Windbreaker (sizes available M, L, XL)
3. We will aim to get a group photo or photos before groups commence the climb.
4. As part of registration everyone will be asked to sign a waiver before commencing your climb. This confirms particpants are taking part at their own risk.
5. We will capture a register list of climbers and ask people to please check in with this register when you come off the mountain to ensure everyone who goes up registers as being down.
6. Everyone climbing will get a meal voucher to enjoy a hot dish at The Tavern Murrisk after the climb! Arrive at your leisure on the afternoon of June 21st only and enjoy a choice of Pan-fried Chicken w/Bacon & Mushroom Sauce, Signature Beef Burger or Guinness Stew! The team at the Tavern will be expecting participants from 1pm onwards. Please provide your voucher on arrival to avail of the meal. Subsequent courses/sides and drinks are payable direct to the Tavern. Voucher valid for use on June 21st only.
7. The Climb will commence at approx 9.30am-10am. People can choose to climb as groups or individuals.

Tips & Recommendations:
- Arrive prepared, pack some snacks, water, flask of hot drink for the summit. Bring a bag but go as light as you can as carrying does slow down your climb.
- Bring a hat, jumper or layer for wearing at the summit. Sunblock is also recommended.
- Ensure phone batteries are charged.
- Take some photos at the summit. If sharing on social please tag @westernalzheimersand #peakofthereek
- Wear appropriate footwear ideally with sole grip and ankle support. Hiking footwear for mountain terrain is recommended.
- If you would like a walking aid, stick or spike, please ensure you bring with you as we will not have any stock of sticks.
Fundraising & Donations:
If you have raised funds via iDonate your funds will automatically get lodged into the Western Alzheimer’s bank account. Record of your fundraising amount will be logged on your iDonate profile. If you would like to share your fundraising page as part of any social coverage of your climb please do so as people can still donate after the event.
If you have been fundraising offline you can bring money raised along on the morning of the climb and give to our fundraising receipt desk in the tent. Receipts will be given on the day.
If you would like to lodge monies raised after the event a lodgement slip can be provided to use at your local AIB or Post Office. We kindly ask lodgements be completed before July 10th 2025. Ensure your name accompanies the lodgement for record of your fundraising effort.
